M segmenti, Avrupa Komisyonu tarafından tanımlanan ve "çok amaçlı araçlar" olarak tanımlanan araçlar için kullanılan araç sınıflandırma sistemi kategorisidir.123 Çok amaçlı araçları, minivanları ve kargo kamyonetlerini kapsar.4 Minivanlar (MPV'ler veya yolcu minibüsleri olarak da adlandırılır) genellikle yolcu veya kargo taşınmasına esneklik sağlamak için çıkarılabilir arka koltuklara sahipken, kargo minibüsleri (hafif ticari araç olarak da adlandırılır) öncelikle kargo taşımak için tasarlanmıştır ve bu nedenle arka koltukları yoktur.

Yakın geçmişte, M segmentinin hacmi Avrupa'da yıldan yıla artıyordu; 2015 yılında C segmenti, J segmenti ve B segmentinden sonra %11,5'lik pazar payı ile en popüler dördüncü segment olarak konsolide edildi.5
